When you assign the stars try to be objective: if it has been raining all the time it is not our fault!

Neighbourhood

The apartment is located in Borgo Teresiano, an area built by Maria Teresa in the mid-nineteenth century on old salt flats to expand the city in full development and it is characterized by the presence of elegant square buildings, where most of the offices are located. In the midst of these buildings you can find the astonishing Lutheran Evangelical Church, in Gothic style, white in color. An unexpected sight!

Simply continuing straight ahead, you can reach the pedestrian area of Ponterosso, with the Canal Grande and the Joyce Bridge, called "the short bridge" (ponte curto) by the natives. This name comes from a funny event: at the end of its construction in 2012, when it was time to place the last tile, it turned out that wrong measurements had been taken, and the bridge was too short!

Along your walk towards Piazza Unità you will meet some places that we would like to point out:

- breakfast: La Bomboniera (Via XXX Ottobre, 3; historical pastry shop in Trieste), Viezzoli (Via Cassa di Risparmio, 7; trendy, opens at 7), Pasticceria Maritani (Piazza Nicolò Tommaseo, 3; the most prestigious pastry shop in Friuli Venezia Giulia)

- lunch: Buffet Da Rudy (Via Valdirivo, 32), Buffet Da Pepi (Via Cassa di Risparmio, 3): two historical places perfect for tasting local dishes.

- happy hour: 040 Social Food: with a little luck you can take a table on the floating platform in the Canal and enjoy a breathtaking happy hour at sunset!

But sometimes joy is closer than you might think: just to the right of the entrance door in via Ghega, you can find Zampolli ice cream parlor, a historical ice cream parlor that offers more than forty different flavors of ice cream. The queue of people in front of the entrance from early morning until late evening points out that a bit of waiting is worth it! Let us know!

Transport

it is not possible to park in Via Ghega, although cars and motorbikes are often parked: these are the customers of the Zampolli ice cream parlor :D

We have a parking spot available 140 m far in a private single garage subject to availability, to be reserved separately and in advance at a cost of 15 euro per night.

You can then move by feet to reach the main attractions!

In the streets in front of the building there are some limited traffic areas, suitably marked, but it is not necessary to pass through them to reach our apartment. This is the map provided by the Municipality of Trieste.
